King is a wickedly talented writer and has the ability to make the mundane extraordinary.
In the small town of Castle Rock, Scott Carey is faced with a very peculiar problem indeed. He appears to be rapidly losing weight but with no physical changes at all. Following his recent divorce, this is the last thing Scott wants to worry about. Scott is also faced with new neighbours who just won’t admit their dogs are leaving a special surprise on Scott’s lawn! But as his affinity to gravity seems to decrease his compassion and heart increased in a way that brings together the small community of Castle Rock.
I was pleasantly surprised by this short read and enjoyed seeing some work from King that was not so horror-centric - although not without his trademark supernatural flare. I loved the small-town feel of this book and notion that one person can impact those around them in ways that they themselves often do no comprehend.
