You definitely won’t want to miss this domestic thriller.
Imagine having to share your husband – the love of your life – with two other women. Imagine spending your week waiting for your day with your husband; not asking about his other wives, his other life. If you had the chance to snoop, wouldn’t you? That’s exactly what our main character does. She’s happy with her life and her husband and even their strange arrangement but curiosity gets the better of her. She does what any of us would do: she takes to the internet and accidentally befriends wife #3. But what really shakes the boat is when she discovers wife #3 is being physically abused by her (no – their) husband. Her husband, her gentle loving husband – her Seth. He is not capable of something so terrible and ugly…..
The Wives has been one of my most enjoyable fall reads and is easily one of my top thrillers. The narrator is smart, relatable and the novelty of a polygamist relationship has its own draw. Fisher spins a tale so captivating that you will not want to put this book down. I’m a sucker for first-person style narration and this book does it perfectly. The Wives had me hanging on every word on the page and kept me guessing until the very end.
